Cosimo & Co Blues Band

It was in 1999 that Pascal Cosimo created Cosimo & Co Blues Band with two bluesmen friends.  An outstanding guitarist, Pascal, a connoisseur of the classics, put his talent and soulful voice in the service of a most traditional style of blues.  They performed as the opening band for Buddy Guy at Six Fours and Bill Perry in Marseille, then they participate in 2002 in the “Toulon City Blues” album produced by Tandem.  The same year, the opened for Popa Chubby at the Zénith Omega Live in Toulon.  In 2005, they came out with their first self-produced album “Live My Live”, recorded live during the “Sous les étoiles” festival.  In 2007, Lionel Mollo, a harmonica player, joins the group and stays with them for good.  The second album, “Harp Yo Time & Cosimo Blues Band” came out in 2008.  A large part of that album was dedicated to the harmonica, and allowed for Lionel Mollo’s immense talent to shine through.  It was also in 2008 that Claude Giovanella, until then “replacement bassist”, joined the band definitively.  Starting in 2010, intense rehearsals alternated with participating in numerous festivals.  In 2012, the year was largely dedicated to recording the “Blues is life” album, with 9 original titles and 3 superbly adapted covers.  The alchemy had by then worked, and the Cosimo & Co Blues Band proposed, through original songs and key standards, a blues with diverse influences:  Chicago, Texan, Mississippi, Rots, 70s Blues/Rock…  and of course timeless rock’n’roll!  With over 1000 concerts under their belt, these musicians still display the same passion and convey with great talent Muddy Waters’ motto: “The Blues had a baby and they called it rock’n’roll”.
